Headsheet Support

Headsheet is still early, and the full app is free for early adopters while it grows. Your feedback shapes what gets built next. Over time it’s expected to move to a freemium model, with the idea that early users keep the full experience. For hairdressing schools and their students, the intention is to keep Headsheet free.

Not yet. Headsheet is currently available on iPhone and iPad only. An Android version is planned for the future, but there’s no release date to share yet.

Tap the add button on the main screen, choose Female, Male, or Photos for your own reference images, optionally give it a name, and tap Create. The diagram opens on its Overview, where tapping any view starts a drawing.

Lines, arrows, freehand strokes, and text labels, with adjustable color, thickness, and solid, dashed or zigzag styles. You can also place photos on the canvas, and the Eraser removes anything you have drawn.

Yes. Choose Photos when you create a diagram and pick up to six images from your photo library. Those photos become the diagram’s views, and you can add or remove them later from the diagram’s Overview.

Use the undo and redo arrows at the top of the drawing screen, or press ⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z on a keyboard. The Eraser tool removes single strokes, and Clear in the Options menu empties the whole view and cannot be undone.

With Mirror on, every line you draw gets a mirrored twin on the other half of the canvas, and the pair stays linked as you edit it. Separately, on a left or right profile, Mirror onto Right Profile copies the finished drawing to the opposite side and replaces what is there.

Snap to Angle and Snap to Point are toggles at the top of the drawing screen. The grid, the magnifier, and Mirror are in the Options menu there, or in the toolbar itself on iPad. How strongly snapping pulls is set in Settings → Snapping.

Yes. You can draw with Apple Pencil or with a finger and both behave the same way, though Headsheet does not use pressure or tilt. One finger draws, two fingers pan, and pinching zooms in for fine detail.

Yes. If you’re signed in to iCloud, your diagrams sync automatically and privately through your iCloud account, with no separate account or sign‑up needed.

Not if iCloud is on. Your diagrams live in your own iCloud account, so signing in on a new iPhone or iPad brings them back. If you are not signed in to iCloud, diagrams stay only on the device they were made on.

Yes. Headsheet is an iPhone and iPad app, and on a Mac with Apple silicon you can install it from the Mac App Store and open the same iCloud diagrams.

Open the diagram’s Overview and use the export menu. Export Image gives you a flat image to send to anyone, and Export for Editing gives you a .headsheet file another Headsheet user can open and keep editing. Long‑press a single view to export just that one.

Tap the file in Mail, Files, or AirDrop. It opens directly in Headsheet, or use Import Diagram inside the app. It’s added as a new diagram.

I was a student at a hairdressing school, where every cut and color had to be recorded as a diagram, and I wanted to draw mine digitally rather than on paper. The only app for that was Hairtechapp, which has done the job well since 2013, but it cost more than most students at my school could spend, and there were things I kept wishing worked differently. I went on to study computer science, and Headsheet is the app I wanted back then, built the way I kept wishing it worked.
